Griffin's New Sign

Nurse Suzie put this one together for Griffin. They are taking very good care of the little guy.

He is all smiles when he gets to sit with mommy. (March 29, 2008)

Too many wires and tubes. They had the feeding tube through his nose for a few hours. The boy pulls at all of them. (March 29, 2008)

He is gaining about an ounce per day. (March 31, 2008)

Nurse Suzie also casted Griffin's hand. The first one looked like a little claw.

Little feet and hands

Once he got a name the nurses made him a sign. The staff down here have been great.

This soother is almost as big as him. He is working it waiting for the real thing. (March 25, 2008)
He has been keeping his eyes open alot more over the past few days. I have been taking the pictures without the flash to avoid hurting his eyes. (March 25, 2008)

He doesn't like all the pictures dad has been taking. (March 26, 2008)

The Little Man has a Name

I think this may actually be a smile. (March 23, 2008)
He still doesn't know what his name is. He will follow our voices, when he is awake. (March 23, 2008)
Mommy gets her turn at Kangaroo Care. (March 24, 2008)
Tracy was full of pain killers and medication for a couple of days. I could have taken the initiative and named the boy, but I waited. We had a short list of names but decided on Griffin Hart Hood.

It's all about him but......Thanks for the support.

Mom & Carol brought the car and some extra clothes. She can hardly take her eyes off him. Until he has an episode....Thanks mom. Carmen came but was taking all the early photos. We didn't get any of her with the Little Man but she left us with some pictures of her family. Thanks for the support.
Toby is holding down the fort in our absence. Watching over his room until he comes home. Everyone has been so supportive. Thank-you for all the calls and emails offering love and support.

Proud Papa

I got the first snuggle today with the Little Man. It lasted for about 2 hours. I read him his first book, I Love You, Little One. I am not sure who bought it Mom or Carmen, thanks it put him out.

Even though he is an American he wears a touque like a good ol Canadian, eh. The CPAP has been replaced by the vapotherm. It has really calmed him down.

One last eye opening for the day.
